No no, I got the tongue in cheek bit. And my response was similarly so (although my tongue wasn't in my cheek, more aligned to the subject of the thread).

I like your comparison of our two approaches, although my version falls apart right at the start where it says "You are out with your mates" (quite clearly I am mateless and only converse with my collection of roadkill remnants). However, if I were to encounter Amber in that scenario, I would ask her if she knew where the exits were and the directions to the nearest art gallery or library. I would, out of politeness, also ask her if she had recourse to change her underwear during the evening and if I could have the old ones to use as a nose-bag. Nothing weird.

Oh, and people use 'smilies' on forums because they can't successfully convey a sense of hyperbolized sarcasm without resorting to cartoon faces. Cheers.

It's like we're collectively going through the 'Kubler-Ross 5 stages of grief'. So far we've had:

1. Denial ("Get over it, she's never doing the night show")
2. Anger ("Bitch, just do as you are told and take your top off")
3. Bargaining ("I will send you money if you do the night show")
4. Depression ("Oh man, we can't wait another 50 pages")

And that just leaves us with acceptance. But that's not for us, Amber will just have to accept that, in a democracy, the will of the people succeeds. And if we stay strong and our thoughts are pure (that last one might need a bit of work) then we will reach the promised land. I may not get there with you (but I'll definitely record it and watch it later). One day we will be able to say 'free at last, free at last, thank God almighty ... Amber's chesticles will be freed at last'. Amen brothers.
