Terminator 2 : Judgement Day(1991) Bigger budgeted but in my mind not as good as its predecessor, partly I think because it does sometimes develop into one long car chase. However, as well as Arnie and Linda Hamilton, it does have a fine early performance from Edward Furlong and Robert Patrick, who is spot on as the relentless advanced new Terminator. The liquid metal effect is cool too. Also starring Earl Boen, Joe Morton, Jenette Goldstein and Xander Berkeley. 7/10

Murder At 1600

Great thriller with Wesley Snipes & Diane Lane, the story is about a young woman who is murdered in the White House and investigation as who did it. Great twists and turns in the movie.

9/10.

Wilde(1997) A biography of Oscar Wilde, mainly focusing on his trial for sodomy and the aftermath in the 1890s. Stephen Fry is perfectly cast in the title role,giving a rounded performance,realistically capturing his change in character after he entered the harsh prison life. There are several other strong performances too from Jude Law and Michael Sheen as his lovers, Jennifer Ehle as his wife, Vanessa Redgrave as his mother and Tom Wilkinson as the Marquis of Queensbury. Also starring Ioan Gruffudd,Judy Parfitt and Zoe Wanamaker. 7.5/10

Pet (2016);

Psychological horror starring Dominic Monaghan(Lost,Lord of the Rings) as Seth a loner & a rather strange fellow who works in an Animal Sanctuary.Whilst traveling home from work he strikes up conversation with an old colleague from school Holly (Ksenia Solo) & from that moment he switches into stalker mode by following her movements & internet activities.When Holly declines the offer of a date Seth does what any rejected person would do (not) & drugs her,kidnaps & locks her away in a specially made cage kept in the basement of his workplace.
As things turn out Holly isn't just a pretty face & she isn't the shy & retiring wallflower it seems quite exactly the opposite where she seems to have more skeletons that all the closets in Ikea could store & has more secrets than all of Bridget Jone's diaries put together.

Overall this is a pretty good film with a clever twist which lets just say it involves several tables turning.I did find Seth an annoying character that I had no sympathy for but perhaps the actor Dominic Monaghan was convincing & intended to play it that way.6.5/10.

XXX - Return of Xander Cage - 2/10 terrible reboot, virtually no plot, terrible dialogue and poor one liners make this a vast disappointment. No amount of over the top stunts and hot women could save it from being the worst film i have seen in a really really long time.

What was Vin Diesel thinking.

And what was the point of casting a load of fit women just to have them keep their kit on ?

Atomic Blonde(2017)

I'll try not to spoil this for anyone,so here goes.Based on the 2012 graphic novel The Coldest City and set in the 80s during the last days of the Berlin Wall with Charlize Theron in superb form as a stone cold,female version of James Bond.Director David Leitch sacrifices characters for cool,its stylised to the point of no return with 80s pop songs underscoring key moments but all that just adds to the charm.Bold,brash with the year's most hard hitting fight scenes,its what the silly xXx franchise should've been.

Man Of Steel (2013)

The Superman story gets an explosive reboot as Henry Cavill takes over the mantle from the late Christopher Reeve as DC Comics' iconic Kryptonian. It's a movie that brings the original first two films into the modern age. While for me still not exceeding Reeve's performance, and it's unlikely that anyone ever will, Cavill is a good choice in the role. His personality really does bring the character's strong sense of morality to the big screen. I did find the movie somewhat overlong with some of the action sequences and Kal-El's origin story becoming slightly tiresome. Michael Shannon is also slightly wooden as the main villain. Other mixed feelings about some of the other cast - Russell Crowe is excellent as Jor-El while Amy Adams' Lois has potential but is underused. Overall it's not perfect, but it serves as a decent alternative to the 1978 masterpiece and well and truly buries the awful Superman Returns from 2006. Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner and Christopher Meloni also star. 3.5 / 5

Triple 9(2016) A group of bent cops and criminals are blackmailed into bank heists by The Russian Mafia. Although the scenario sounds slightly fresh this is a mainly formulaic movie mostly populated by unpleasant/unsympathetic characters, in fact the whole thing feels a bit nasty. At 1hr 55mins it seems way overlong and even a fine cast, including Chiwetel Ejiofor, Casey Affleck and Kate Winslet can't save it. Winslet does a slightly strange, possibly Russian accent while Woody Harrelson phones in his stock 'Southern' portrayal. Affleck's character is easily the most sympathetic while Michael K Williams does an entertaining cameo as a transvestite and Gal Gadot and Teresa Palmer provide welcome eye candy. Also starring Anthony Mackie,Aaron Paul,Norman Reedus,Clifton Collins Jr and Michelle Ang. 5/10
