platini doesnt like the premiership is that it gets more money than the champions league does in tv rights. thats why ufea through the eu competition commission getting the premier league to sell off the tv rights in different packages thus reducing the income made.

the reason why the financial fair play rules were brought in was that owners abramovich and the shaik at man city can plough many many millions into the club. man city had that £400m sponsorship from etihad (owned by the shaik) which included naming rights for the stadium, shirt sponsors but the company etihad has posted for the last few years losses. probably what has happened is owners have got their accountants and lawyers to go through the rules and find the gray areas and how they can get around the rules without breaking them. the british cycling teams philosophy is that if its not in the rules its allowed.

Just a quick summary on whats going on in Europe:

In Italy, Juventus failed to do the domestic double after losing 2-0 to Napoli in the Italian cup. I think its Napoli's first trophy in 25 years.

In France, Montpellier won the French league after they came from behind to beat Auxerre 2-1, which meant PSG's 2-1 win over Lorient was not enough for them to win the French league. Auxerre, Caen and Dijon were relegated

Napoli are quality, just hope the likes of Cavani and Hamsik don't jump ship so soon, Napoli can offer Italian football a lot with them playing in their side. Add a few more players and keep the likes of Cavani & Hamsik and I expect them to claim the Serie A soon.

Don't forget Levezzi, but unfortunately I think that fearsome front three will be broken up, but I hope its not. I hear Levezzi is interesting PSG and Inter Milan, Cavani is interesting clubs in England and Spain. I haven't heard much about Hamsik, but I think some clubs will try and sign him. But of course Napoli could go all out and keep them, plus the players might be settled in Napoli. Lets hope they stay, because Napoli only need to add two more players to really challenge for the Serie A title
