I wonder how many other sports stars within their respective sports would deny fans such a feat. You wouldn't get darts players not going for a 9 darter or a bowler not wanting to go for a hattrick.

But how many "people in the world" could get a 147 clearance in tournament conditions? I mean, I think the majority of other players would welcome the money, and now they can still win it, rather than share it with a smart alec.

He should have gone for 147 and donated the money to charity if the money meant so little to him

Ronnie breezed through again this evening without much trouble.

Joe Perry got a great result to beat Judd Trump 4-3

Just to make things all the more interesting Ding Junhui accepted the offer to beat Ronnie's 146 and has promptly made a 147 today in his quarter final loss to Neil Robertson .
