She is somebody any leader can work with & she is proud of her country unlike some people here in the UK - namely leave.EU - who seem to have a blinkered approach.

I may not be met with a kind response here, but I believe Putin too has had his actions, and/or public announcements misjudged! I think his intention is not a 'takeover', but instead to show to - not least a proud domestic audience - his strength as a leader, and determination not to be pushed around by the west (specifically USA) as an individual, and in terms of Russia as a whole!

I have always believed that you could trace Putin's actions of today, all the way back to the premature 'overthrow' of Gorbachev, in favour of the easily manipulated Yeltsin! Gorbachev always said he needed time to transition from Communism to an essentially free society (not like democracy as we might understand it - but still...) but incentivised by the west who said that The USSR should transition quicker to the 'utopian' paradise of western style free markets etc - the people of Russia opted for a change for the promise of better things tomorrow!

One small problem! The West (deliberately in my view) didn't get their/our hands dirty by helping to manage any change, resulting in - many can recall - an economy that tanked, the shops emptying of even the basics (with what remained being available at extortionate prices) and hyper inflation - hence prices! All this was designed - I believe - to make Russia weak and ripe for manipulating! At the time - mission accomplished - until first Medvedev - paving the way - and then Putin himself - came forward with an 'up with this we will NOT put' mentality!

Tell me I am wrong?? Hence the sabre rattling since he came to power!

Yeah he's an angel. Murdering journalists, jailing political opponents at home, invading Ukraine, interfering in elections in the USA and poisoning people in Salisbury are clearly the actions of a saint.
