The left in the US has the same problem as the left in the United Kingdom and that is that due to the electoral systems both have, the right can win power by playing to its base where the left needs to pivot to a broader coalition. Labour cannot win power without winning Tory voters, same The Democrats & Republicans.



The conventional wisdom of politics used to be that famous phrase "it's the economy stupid" I personally believe we are in an age of "it's cultural stupid". If the Democratic Party wants to win power it needs to show that it has a place for white men. The left across the world needs to asks itself. How do we address immigration & identity politics without pandering to racists & upholding our values?
