Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials 7/10.

Pretty decent second part to the trilogy. You kinda knew right off the bat that things weren't right, but it gets pretty messed up, even had a wtf nearly shit yourself moment...fucking 'cranks'. lol.
I'm looking forward to the third film, although it has been pushed back a year due to the main actor being involved in an accident on set. When you read what happened, it's lucky he wasn't killed.

Quote:Dylan O'Brien was injured while shooting the YA action-adventure sequel on March 18. Sources say he was in a harness on top of a moving vehicle when he was pulled off the vehicle unexpectedly and hit by another vehicle. A report from WorkSafeBC described his injuries as including a "concussion, facial fracture and lacerations."

Hoop Dreams(1994)

Steve James's documentary was controversially ovrelooked at the 1995 Academy Awards for the best documentary feature nomination(an omission that led to a change in the rules governing the selection procedures in that category).Hoop Dreams follows two young African American NBA hopefuls,William Gates and Arthur Agee as they try to work their way out of inner city Chicago.Even though the documentary was only meant as a half hour feature on PBS,the cameras ended up recording for five years and director James got 170 minutes of footage covering the triumphs and setbacks from high school to college.Sadly the setbacks outnumber the triumphs as a series of unexpected and bitter twists take centre stage. However, they only enhance the power of the footage. You don't even need to be a basketball fan to enjoy this most honest of documentary films.

Resident Evil Damnation

For me in my opinion the Resident Evil CGI animated films have been way better then the live action versions of the film and spot on and faithful to the video game series plus this film featured my fav Resident Evil character Leon S. Kennedy he started off as a wet behind the ears cop on his first day in Resident Evil 2 to a totally bad ass in Resident Evil 4 and 6. The CGI animation is really good too 8.9/10.

Wolf Of Wall Street(2013) I'm won't go over the plot or much of the cast but suffice to say Scorcese is a highly skilled director to make a hugely entertaining film of around three hours length about a fairly unpleasant, if charismatic person, indeed many of the characters are pretty obnoxious. Equally good as a crime, drama and comedy film, and comedy takes more than one form, physical, situations and script. DiCaprio is superb but Rob Reiner & Jonah Hill are particularly good too. 8.5/10

Dracula's Daughter(1936)

Universal's first sequel to Tod Browning's Dracula(1931)has a very interesting plot.It Begins with Abraham Van Helsing played effectively by Edward Van Sloan, being taken to Scotland Yard, accused of Count Dracula's murder.Gloria Holden is also very good as Countess Marya Zaleska.

The Haunting (2009) A Spanish variation on the old, supernatural house, but with interesting ingredients, a mother(played well by Ana Torrent) suffering from post natal depression and with supernatural abilities & the Catholic Church with secrets it wants to hide. Nicely shot with good some acting, and a fine, mostly classical soundtrack, but not really scary enough. Also starring Francisco Boira, Hector Colome, Maria Alfonsa Rosso, Miriam Capa & Rocio Munez-Cobo. 6.5/10

The Purge: Election Year (2016)

Plenty of spills and kills, just sadly without the same level of excitement as it's predecessors. Too many gags also hamper the film's ability to produce it's intended terror. Still a fan of this film franchise, but found this third offering disappointing. 2/5

Liliom(1933)

Director Fritz Lang's only French film based on the play by Ferenc Molnar."God's Police" come to take Charles Boyer to heaven to face judgement for the transgressions he commited in life.A very good old fashioned ghost story with some effective opticals that still hold up well.

RE: Last film you watched
Two in the last week; both old but well known.....

PANIC ROOM (Jodie Foster / Kristen Stewart)
Saw it in a local charity shop, part of a '4 for £2' bargain shelf deal; but worth the price alone. Slow start but really liked it in the end. Jodie is always worth a watch, & even Kristen was quite good. Not the first movie around a similar idea, but liked the way it played out, and some equally good parts played by the other actors too.

MEMENTO (Guy Pearce)
Had this on my DVD shelf for two years, thought it was time to watch it. Now wished I'd spent the time doing something more interesting, as just couldn't follow the repetitive plot. Coped with 'Groundhog Day' doing it, but this lacked any humour or way of keeping me gripped. Don't ask me what happened at the end, I never got that far before giving up. Got an hour through it at most.... Not on my list of recommendations for sure.

I never sit on the fence. I prefer to drop kick it out the way instead! Could possibly be a big fan of wankspangling?
