Like i was joking about locking them in the Chamber and executing them one by one every hour till they came up with a deal

I'm not aware of any ability that The EU would have to block us from doing any deals perhaps someone else may be able to answer that question. What the WTO rules do stipulate is that you cannot give preferential treatment to one nation/bloc, so if we were to leave under No Deal and then came to an arrangement with the EU where we were to get tariff free trade, we would automatically have to provide tariff free trade to all other nations. Therefore they would not require to enter any trade deals with us because they already have what they need.

The other draw back to WTO rules is that they relate to trade only obviously as that is the T in the acronym and The UK is an 80% services economy so that would still leave the majority of our economy stymied as we would have nothing to replace the passporting rights for financial services firms. This is why Jacob Rees Mogg's Finance company has set up two feeders in Dublin because it knows that leaving under WTO rules would be extremely damaging for it

So in effect we would be no better off?

I don't think this is true as a trade agreement with the EU would not impact WTO arrangements with other countries.

What we can safely say is that our MP'S let their egos run havoc with this and sod everybody else

It depends on whether this trade agreement was made BEFORE we left the EU. Only then would Secret Agent be correct.

If we leave the EU without a deal, which is what southsidestu was talking about, then we would be trading with everyone on WTO terms. It's possible to then conclude a free trade agreement with the EU, but because of WTO's 'Most Favoured Nation' rule the UK would then have to automatically allow free trade for all other countries.

As southsidestu did stipulate that he was talking about a No Deal scenario he was actually correct in what he posted.

Right so let try this scenario? : - If you guys had the opportunity in the house to back or reject May's plan what would you all have done?

And what would be your plan that would break the deadlock?

Where we are now is where we should have been 2 years ago. Parliament trying to form a consensus on the best way forward.
Then May could have gone to the negotiations in a much stronger position knowing what Parliament wanted, and knowing it was behind her.

Ideally I would of had the indicative votes before the referendum so that the favoured option went on the ballot paper and there could of been a consensus not just within Parliament but with the British public and before anyone tells me Brexit was the consensus, support in the polls for May's WA and No Deal are both in the 30 - 40% bracket so don't give me that shite

Conservative MP's both ministers & Backbenchers have warned-Mrs May that they will block any attempt to call a snap Brexit General Election in the Commons by her. She would need a huge commons majority in it self to do so, but she could table a no confidence in her own government which doesn't need one!!

one MP Caroline Nokes had apparently written to one of hr constituents saying Mrs Mays deal was "dead" - it has been dead and resurrected 3 times love, it has been brought back to life more times than Lazarus!!
