Brexiteers were pretty silent about that instance of going against parliamentary procedure, it's only when it goes against their own interests do they have a problem. Which of course is the way of the world, Remainers would be the same no doubt but that don't make the hypocrisy stink less

I'm seeing that the Tories are drawing up a list of nominees for the next EU Parliamentary elections in the event of Brexit being delayed. Brexit continues to go well

Bercow is a little shit who is so up himself he is apparently fucking angry fucker behind the scenes. main reason why i want him gone more than likely my mp would be speaker as he is deputy now. sound guy always visble in the town and love when he is in the chamber telling toffs off with his broad lancastrian accent. Tongue Tongue he hates the SNP video of him having a right go at Eck few years back Tongue Tongue

I think Bercow's currently doing a very good job in difficult circumstances. As for the amendment he allowed a vote on, if MPs didn't approve of that decision they could simply have voted against. The fact that they voted in favour of the amendment and it was passed shows that the majority of MPs were on Bercow's side.

What pisses me off with him was he is SUPPOSED to be impartial and he wasn't

How wasn't he? He stood up for MP's rather than the government and as Schvall said by allowing the vote he in fact allowed the majority of MP's to show they were in favour of it.

He simply allowed a vote he didn't really have to. A bit like a certain Cameron a while back.

^ BounceBounceBounce

I’m tempted to say that Brexiteers only like a vote when it goes in their favour.

Worth noting though that Rees-Mogg has defended Bercow even though he disagrees with him.

RE: Europe, Referendum & Brexit (formerly Europe..IN or OUT??)
The whole Bercow debacle on Wednesday clearly smacks of hypocracy because various MP's openly stated to Bercow himself when they wanted to add amendments to legislation for debate & voting but he turned them down as he claimed under Parliamentary protocol only Cabinet Ministers can do that. But yet Bercow went above his jurastiction & passed a Bill by a non-cabinet minister in Dominic Grieve & Bercow also said no MP's were allowed to even debate it.Bercow then had the audacity to later say that even though he has rules to follow he has always intended to implement his own.In a way I am pleased that when the Government's Withdrawal Deal gets voted down that instead of trying to run down the clock (which is what May intended to do) they instead get 3 days to return with alternative proposals/plan.The only problem I have is the 3 days which is a short time to renegotiate concessions with the EU where I felt 5-7 days would be more suitable. And the EU have stated that they wouldn't be prepared to negotiate any concessions until the Deal has been voted down.

The role of Speaker is to remain impartial throughout the whole debating process but Bercow has proven he clearly isn't,he is on record at various events at Universities & other debating arenas that he is actively & openly against Brexit (some have even been recorded) & the 'Bollox to Brexit' sticker on the windscreen of his car (but claims it's his wife's) shows he can never be impartial on the thorny issue of Brexit. This would like Premiership Referee openly admitting they are a Man Utd fan getting to referee an FA Cup Final between Man Utd & Liverpool it just wouldn't be allowed to happen under Premier rules or if so it would be under the tightest of scrutiny.

You only have to look at the whole bullying scandal he has been mired under where various MP's,employees in the Common's & civil servants have come forward with allegations of bullying, harrassment, intimidation etc against Bercow where he even allowed himself to sit in the Common's & listen in to MP's discussing allegations about Bercow himself. And so how the hell can Bercow lecture MP's & the outer public about bullying & harrassment (yes the Soubry incident was disgraceful) when Bercow is one of the worst. In truth the allegations surrounding Bercow have been swept under the carpet as anti-Brexit MP's like Margaret Beckett have openly said the issue of Brexit is a far more important issue than bullying etc in the Common's & they believe Bercow is key to stopping Brexit. If Bercow was in any other job outside parliament with the substantial allegations against him he would be out on his arse.

Regarding the continuous MP's expenses scandal it has proved that Bercow definitely loves living the high life with expensive taste what with VIP seat Wimbledon tickets & arts works costing hundreds of thousands in the name of expenses courtesy of us tax-payers.Either way Bercow will gone in the Summer or if/after Brexit has passed through The Common's & by gauging HannahsPet earlier thread about his local MP being a potential Speaker if it's Lindsay Hoyle I would agree as whenever I have seen him step into the role he is a Godsend compared to Bercow.

let us it was enough or what u had expected, and if there is a piss up to celebrate it TongueTongueTongueTongue

Now they are saying no Brexit 'more likelier than no deal'. I think the problem has been that two years of negotiating has been wasted by political in fighting weak negotiating and in a deal likely to be thrown out tomorrow. I think we didn't expect the EU'S stance to be what it was from the beginning, but whole negotiating position from the UK's point has been a farce. We knew what the timetable was, but when the deal gets thrown out tomorrow and Mrs May has no plan B, (she has to come up with something pretty quickly) do we have to wait a certain period of time before we trigger Article 50 again?

^ Of course we expected the EU to take a hard line! The leading Brexiteers made all sorts of promises which have been shown to be lies and they even rubbished the warnings made by 2 ex Prime Ministers that the Northern Ireland issue would be a real problem.

Now when people are waking up to the shitshow we are in you can’t say that you were not warned.
