That's what's called home advantage.
Like if you play a team with two good wingers you make the pitch narrower. Or if you play the long ball game you make sure the grass is long.

I've never seen an away team complain about getting a draw before in Europe.

it's not like they didn't have any chances. Xavi should have buried two of them; a great player, but not known for his goalscoring!
