For what it's worth, I don't think we need an EU army either. Unless Trump succeeds in screwing up NATO, then we're in a different ball game.

If there was an EU army formed (and it's a big 'if') it would be used for defence against outside aggression, or overseas peacekeeping. It would never be used for internal peacekeeping, and I'll tell you why. No EU country (the French more than anyone) would accept foreign troops operating on their streets against protesters. And no EU country would want to put their troops in that position either.

Maybe you should be supporting such a thing, though. Because if you want to see the EU disintegrate, that's how it would happen.

I've been looking around the internet for anything on the French armoured cars bearing EU Flags at the weekend.

Unsurprisingly one site carrying a story on this and raising the EU Army issue is ZeroHedge an Alt Right associated conspiracy blog seen by some as being anti-establishment, conspiratorial and with a pro-Russian bias. Lo and behold Breitbart also carried a similar story as did the Daily Star.

None of these esteemed journals make any attempt in their articles to find out why the EU Flag is on the vehicles simply preferring to stir their readers gullibility with scare stories.

I suspect the EU Flags on the Gendarmarie APCs are something to do with the European Gendarmarie Force. It's a multinational Force involving half a dozen or so EU countries.

Not strictly an EU force but the line is a bit blurry to say the least.

It’s an attempted power grab by the hard brexiteers who are hell bent on destroying the economic future of the country from their lofty millionaire mansions. There is no majority for a no deal brexit in Parliament so whatever happens this shit show is just self indulgent bollocks by the likes of Rees Mogg and Johnson.

If she survives, she would then have a years grace before they could make another challenge. So it may be a benefit in disguise.
