The Mandalorian episode 7, very good series and getting better and better with each episode, can't wait for the series finale. Also is anyone else getting a Firefly/Serenity vibe/tone with this show ? And that's a good thing by the way, in my view anyway.

Political Studies Association Awards 2019
Jon Snow has presented this for donkey's years, but he seems to have melted, so they got Michael Crick. This fitted the tone of the awards, which were as richly deserved as usual Wink

Completely agree, they've made something a bit special, can't wait for the finale.
Yeah, it's the whole space western feel that's reminiscent of Firefly, which is great as the two genres work really well together.

Star Trek DS9 series 5 finale "Call to arms". I especially loved the final scenes where the Defiant and Martok's ship rendezvous with a large Federation/Klingon fleet that just scored a big win against the Dominion. It's a very good contrast with the first scene of the next episode where the demolished remains of the Allied fleet limp away from battle.

Glad it wasn't just me Smile

Agree about the space western working well. It seems like an odd mix of genres that really doesn't look like it should work on paper but yeah, like Firefly/ Serenity, The Mandalorian works extremely well. It's a quality series that feels very understated, I think rewatching it in future will make it seem even better than it is now, and now it's excellent.

Michael McIntyre's Christmas Big Show
Where else might you get Aled Jones and Ozzy Osbourne? Nice "surprise surprise" -style family reunion bit. What people go to these shows and fall for things that are clearly set-ups?

BBC1 Christmas programmes across the board from Strictly to Eastenders(just can't watch Mrs Brown's Boys) and I even saw Gavin and Stacey and I've never seen a single episode of that in the past. I don't know why ITV bother these days, they are trounced in the ratings every Christmas with the same boring rubbish-it is as if they don't have anything - Downton Abbey was probably their biggest ratings win a few years ago but not even Coronation Street can beat their rivals Eastenders.
