Reports suggest Van Gaal will have £220 million to spend this summer (this must be speculation as I can't see United making this sort of news public) and has identified 5 key targets. The first being Kevin Strootman. If it's true I presume he is recovering well as he had a serious knee injury a couple of months ago. I won't believe anything in the press though until it's a done deal.

What are the chances of United signing anyone before the WC starts?

Rene Meulensteen has been told by Man Utd manager Louis van Gaal that he will not be reinstalled on the club's coaching staff.

Man utd sign sports deal with addidas for ten years from season 2015 worth £750 million dwarfs arsenal's £150 million over five years.

Excellent bit of business for United. Nike could not meet the demands that United were after so into the breach stepped Adidas. To put this into perspective its the same as selling a Suarez every year for the next ten years. While we may have had a poor season on the pitch this shows what a globally powerful brand and well run business United are.
United in advanced talks with Juve for Arturo Vidal now with Nani going in the opposite direction plus £32 million according to several sources. This will be the signing of the season for me. Also apparently getting a favourable response from Hummels. He may not be the paciest of defenders but he is intelligent and a quality tackler.
Robben has indicated he will remain at Bayern which doesn't bother me too much. Undoubted quality but he can be temperamental and his diving annoys me...Young is bad enough we don't want another. Di Maria has also stated he is not interested as he wants CL football this season.
