It may surprise Don Tingley to be told this, but a museum is not the same thing as a trophy cabinet. A club museum is a way of preserving a club's history, whether it's been successful or not, and many people are interested in the history of the club they follow. The Chelsea museum is popular because many Chelsea fans want to see what the 1950 Chelsea squad looked like or to see the shirt that Peter Osgood wore. Maybe in Don Tingley's opinion the winning of trophies is the only thing that matters and therefore if you haven't won anything you don't need a museum, but to many people the history of their club matters a lot and to preserve items from the history of their club is a worthy cause. But then on relection maybe Don Tingley's right after all and the only thing worth knowing about a club is how many trophies its won. After all, who cares what colour Chelsea played in before they switched to blue and who wants to see a football shirt that old anyway?

You don't have to patronise and put words into people's mouths to make your own point.

Maybe what I said seemed a harsh way of making the point. If you think so then I apologise. Cool But it was in reply to your comment that "we've had some success but not a museums worth!" - which suggests that there's nothing about a football club that's worth knowing or preserving unless it's a record of the trophies it's won.

He's going to apologise to Manchini. And it looks like he will be back in the team soon.

I'm not sure about that. Do Man City need Tevez? Who would he play instead of?

Thank you for your comments Money_Shot. You may even be right in what you say. I think it's distinctly possible that you'd be right. We would be kicked out of the league though if we fold and have to start several leagues down. Then we may need investment to get back in the league, which means looking for owners with money to do that, and so the cycle may begin all over again. Sad

It doesn't have to be like that though, aaron. Look at AFC Wimbledon, a fine example of a Trust run club. The club is run by a Supporters Trust with help from Supporters Direct this kind of thing can be easily done at Pompy.
Pompy have a huge following, easily getting 14,000 most games. Starting at the bottom (my club Aldershot Town done it '92, 16 years later we're back in the FL) seems a horrible thought, but it is fun.
You get a taste of what football was like before money started killing it, before the rules and regulations. You get to see some great little grounds and experience a different side of football. It took AFC Wimbledon 9 years I think, I'm sure it'd take Pompy less. Importantly at the end of it, you'd have a sustainable club run by it's fans who care and love it and it'll have a stable future ahead.

Mick McCarthy had been the 5th longest serving manager in the Premier League (after Ferguson, Wenger, Moyes and Pulis). Curbishley is a big odds on favourite to succeed him. Bruce and Warnock are the only 2 others the bookies are taking seriously for the Wolves job.

Quote:Huddersfield slipped to fourth place in the race for automatic promotion from League One after losing 1-0 at home to Sheffield United last night, their first defeat in 10 league matches.

Academy manager Mark Lillis has been installed as caretaker manager and will take charge of the club against Exeter on Saturday.

Club chairman Dean Hoyle said in a statement: "This was a very difficult decision; one not taken lightly or in response to one result. Concerns have been raised over recent weeks.

"Lee and his coaching staff have put their all into the job over the past three seasons and he has made a huge contribution to the club.

"However with 16 matches to go we still have an opportunity to achieve promotion and we have made this change with this in mind.

"Huddersfield Town would like to place on record its thanks to Lee and his coaching staff and wish them all the best for the future."

Clark, 39, who quit as first-team coach at Norwich to succeed Stan Ternent at the Galpharm Stadium, led Huddersfield to the League One play-off final in May and steered them to a new club record of 43 league games unbeaten this season as they maintained their challenge for a top-two finish.

4th place, 16 matches to go and you can't give him till the end of the season, impatience much?

No, by all means, despite my rantings, I'm fully aware the greed extends further then the Premier Greed. Blush

There is something more then meets the eye with Lee Clarke. People will argue impatience, fickle fans etc etc, at the same time though he has had a HUGE budget and failed to win the league last season, bottled the play-offs, and this season are 10 off the top.
He did go on a fantastic unbeaten run (the play-off defeats didn't count) but then they were still 5 points from Charlton at the time who were top.

Just to make clear, I'm not saying sacking him was the right move either, I like Lee Clarke and think he looks a decent manager for the future. Just putting another side of the coin on show
