How the tales of legendary comic book superheroes like Batman and The Avengers were adapted for cinema before going on to dominate Hollywood and captivate audiences worldwide. Going back to the earliest ever Batman (yet strangely not Superman) made for television and then the campier 60's version leading to Superman the Movie in 1978 - it charts the rise and fall and rise again of the genre from the early 80's films which flopped to 1989 and the major new version of BATMAN plus its whole merchandising campaign to the Marvel Universes films and beyond. It was fascinating and well worth a watch even if you just like one type of film franchise - hard to believe in the 1990's Marvel were on the brink of collapse whilst DC flourished.
