RE: Movies/Tv - Facts and Trivia
If you remember the late 1980's detective series Cover Up where a fashion designer and a bodyguard team up to solve crime you might remember the handsome devil that accompanied the woman. His name was Jon-Erik Hexum and he killed himself in a bizarre game of Russian roulette. The story goes that the gun was loaded with a blank and he was fooling about with it. The gun went off and being so close to his head he suffered a sever trauma and metaphorically blew his brains out. He was replaced by Antony Hamilton who would go on to star in the reboot of Mission:Impossible in the 90's.

Movie trailers were originally shown after the movie, which is why they were called “trailers”. The problem with the trailers showing after the film was that audience wouldn’t stay around to watch them, making the trailers rather ineffective.

Couple of Trivia from the Bond film Diamonds are Forever:

The mud bath thing that one of the Biofelds was laying in was actually mash potato with colouring apparently it smelled really bad.

The original villain was going to be Goldfinger twin brother who wanted revenge against Bond but the idea was dropped.

Lois Maxwell who plays Moneypenny in one scene was in police uniform wearing a hat because she had dyed her hair.

Some of the names of the Bond villains really did exist. There was an Erno Goldfinger whom I believe was an architect in the 60's Brutalist style that Ian Fleming didn't like. Blofeld of course was based on Henry(doyen of the cricket world and ex BBC radio commentator) Blofeld's father, the name was borrowed at least.

We all know that Homer Simpson exclamation of DOH! but did you know that he wasn't the first to say it. It has been attributed(and admitted by Dan Castelanetta-voice of Homer) to a Scottish comedian who was in a few Laurel & Hardy films, called James Finlayson and his DOHHH! was actually longer in delivery so Castelenetta shortened it. A group of people in Scotland, called the Sons of Finlay are on a mission to get him better recognition and organised a series of clever stunts-one was getting people to take his photo all over the world and photograph it and post it on social media. Finlayson would say it in all sorts of situations, mostly when angry or frustrated screwing his face up and closing one eye!

The Simpsons wasn't that big to begin with. It was a filler cartoon added to the middle of the Tracey Ullman comedy show and lasted about 5 mins, so you could say she made it famous. DOH!! Big Grin

RE: Movies/Tv - Facts and Trivia
Blade Runner tested poorly with audiences, the studio insisted on a "happy ending" and new voice-over from Harrison Ford. The film had a famously troubled production, mostly due to conflicts between the producers and director Ridley Scott. Trying to find a way to end his film, Scott turned to Stanley Kubrick, who had shot a great deal of b-roll for the opening of The Shining. The next day, Kubrick called Scott and announced: "It’s Stanley. One other thing. I know you’re going through my footage right now. If there’s anything I used, you can’t have it. Got it?" Scott said that was "cool" with him, and the rest is history.
