I would also have to go with the styles clash in terms of its devastation, as a submission thats a tough one would probably side with the sharpshooter.

I wouldn't want to take a spear from Goldberg in his prime years,I don't think he realised how strong he was or that pro wrestling is a workSmile

The Diamond Stud/Razor Ramon/Scott hall Outsider Edge was a always a dangerous looking finisher, even Bret Hart never wanted to take it.

Some of the moves the Japanese wrestlers do are incredibly dangerous as well.

As for submissions,as a kid I hated the look of a well executed Boston crab or The Hitman's Sharpshooter,he always performed that move better than Sting.

For a submission hold, the Crippler Crossface was definitely brutal. I'm talking about when Chris Benoit used it, not the goofy STF version that Cena does.

Bounce
I really laughed at that comment about Cena mate,he can't even throw a realistic looking punch, let alone attempt to apply a fundamental submission hold.

Absolutely mate, Cena's a goof, I just think people are tired of him and his five moves of doom. I know I am.

Going back to the submission moves, there's a lot to be said for the Sharpshooter. Remember Bret made Stone Cold pass out when he refused to submit. That signalled a brilliant storyline with Bret turning heel and Austin turning face.

Also Undertaker beat Lesnar by fading him out with the Hell's Gate. It has to be said though that in that match at Summerslam, Lesnar had already tapped out Taker with the Kimura. That was the only time I'd ever seen Undertaker tap, although the ref didn't see it.

It's just with the Crossface combined with Benoit's aggression and in that era, it looked devastating. With his mindset in the ring (and very sadly out of the ring too Sad ), he could have broke someone's neck with it.

In my opinion, that WM13 submission match between Stone Cold and Hart is still the best WM match of all time, absolute drama in spades.

I think Taker had it written into his contract that he would never loose via submission/tap out.

As for submission holds in general, its all about how aggressive a wrestler looks applying the hold for it to get over with a crowd.I remember my nephew when he was 6 years old, laughing at Cena doing his shitty STFU,he turned to me and said "He's not even hurting him." yes a 6 year old saw through Cena's offencelaugh

Anyone find wrestlemania this year at all appealing? Apart from Shane's match and the legends minimal involvement , i struggle to see anything exciting this year.

what I will say is, when I went last year live all the talk of it being a rubbish show goes out the window, it is an amazing experience and u just get sucked into all the fun that happens, it's just when u don't go and watch from home that's it kinda looks a terrible and boring show in the making. Hate to moan and complain but that's just how I see it this year

Well rumoured that Kurt angle was at NXT show the other day along with Triple H get the feeling will be a twist to the hell in cell match that depends on what order the matches will be on if its HHH reigns on and then hell in cell match last then more than likely something going down in the match they will want a WTF ending to the show

now takers streak has gone doesnt matter if he loses and will prob chance of angle vs taker at summerslam or next years wm

I know what you mean mate,I went to WM 15,17,24,25 and to experience it live is tremendous.I will say though, the live crowd reactions at 15 and 17 were much louder and more intense than 24 and 25.Then again,at those 2 manias I was too busy laughing at the abuse Cena got.Big Laugh

This years show doesn't hold much promise, due to the lack off effort in recent booking. The Shane/Undertaker and Vince angle has been piss poor so far,I'm hoping that they can at least have a decent match on the night.
