Falcons @ Buccs - 01.15 Friday

Not an eye-catching contest in isolation, but after the Buccs slipped up least week against the Saints they can ill afford another loss. They are locked in the NFC South with the Panthers & it could all come down to the week 18 game when the 2 teams meet.

EDIT : Buccs & Panthers play each other in Week 16 & 18.

Bucs are done. Similar to the Colts, another team that were dominant in the first half of the season have lost their mojo. Just goes to show it’s a marathon, not a sprint. This time last year, the very average looking Eagles started to get hot and went on to win the Super Bowl, so watch out for the team that gets hot now!

^I've seldom seen so many 50/50 calls go against a home team.

Buccs 28 - 29 Falcons
I agree with Hobgoblin, the Buccs look cooked, still in their own destiny to make the post season with the Panthers up twice but after starting 5-1 they've gone 2-6. Everything seems to be on Mayfield he has got some key players back on offence but the defence has given up more points, almost every game is coming down to a one score situation which piles the pressure on one mans shoulders.

The Buccs held a 28-14 advantage early in the 4th quarter & just couldn't hang on. Evans was the primary receiver with 6 catches for 122 yards, but was targeted 12 times. We saw none of the usual scrambling plays from Mayfield as he was sacked 5 times.
Cousins had better efficiency & output with a 373 passing yards, his 3 TD's were all grabs by Kyle Pitts who had 11 catches for 166 yards.
Stella RB Bijan Robinson had 19 carries for 93 yards & a TD & 8 catches for 82 yards as he leads the league in combined yards.

The standout stat was the 19 penalties that were called on the Falcons, a season high for any team. Whilst some were debateable it is still remarkable to overcome that many mistakes.

So much still riding on the playoff picture. Thoughts?

Panthers should be too strong for the Saints.
Packers can break the Broncos 10 game winning streak. Home field advantage playing a part.
49ers to beat the Titans.
Lions have to win, Rams can afford a loss, a real 50/50, Rams slight favourites.
Cowboys over the Vikings.
