The WWF in the late 80s had the best ever tag team division. They had so much talent they ran 3 seperate house shows a night, all which where headlined by each respected title holder .I.e intercontinental, WWF tag team champions and the world title

Yeah, but don't forget they had no Raw or Smackdown, and probably only about 3 or 4 PPVs a year.

Absolutely, but they had 2 television tapings every week even though they didn't rely as much on tv ratings back then,it was house show revenue and merchandise that made them the most money alongside the 4 pay per views.

The quality in tag teams was far superior to the late 90s,2000s and what they have now.

Point I'm making is they had a much stronger roster and the titles meant something in those days, they didn't switch hands every week like they do now. That's why tag team champs headlined house shows every night.

I doubt very much that they had a stronger roster.

What's different now is the way that the roster (and the titles) are used, i.e. incredibly badly. The fault lies at the top.

The MacMahons have clearly no idea anymore, you're 100% correct on that.

I'm not trying to start an argument or anything.

But they had a much stronger tag team roster,no question.

The Bulldogs,The Hart Foundation,Demolition,The Powers Of Pain,The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers,The Brain Busters,The Rockers,The Young Stallions,The Islanders just to name a few. Those teams are better than any wwe combo today.

Also,in those days wrestlers could speak from the heart and not have to follow a script word for word like they do now. That makes today's roster seem even worse.Spouting the same old formulaic promos and not being allowed to improvise.

Good to hear that has been Jerry Lawler dressing down AJ Styles on his commentary.Of course he's only following MacMahon's instructions through his ear piece from the gorilla position but still,it shows how much distain MacMahon has for talent that hasn't come up through the wwe's development system and for other promotions in general.

What a strange way of prompting someone he has hired and paid for to work for him.
They basically wrote off his entire career's achievements before wwe just to say Vince MacMahon and wwe are superior.

I'm still hopeful they'll do something worth while with him,but its not looking good.I hope they prove me wrong.

Just got done watching this weeks show, man when will this product turn around, absolutely nothing worth noting once more.
AJs booking is the sole reason im tuning in right now which I truely hope he gets to showcase his talents and not held back because the whole rookie tag really is pathetic, the guys a world star so why not put him over that way, that and the womens build which actually is the only logical booking going on, the rest is just rematches and mixed tags which have been done numerous times.

So true mate.

Styles isn't what MacMahon goes for physically,he's obsessed with muscle/roid freaks. As a Styles fan,I'm gonna try and stay positive.

RE: The Official WWE Discussion Thread
I so wish he had followed nakamura into NXT first off purely for the potencial matches that could of come from it with balor and such, but totally get wanting to get the main roster call up and wrestling at mania at his age making his mark, we shall all continue to remain upbeat that he will get his time to shine.

In my opinion, going to NXT would have made more sense, his style and size are the perfect fit.

I'm just hoping MacMahon hasn't signed him up to the main roster to simply destroy him like he has so many others.
