shrute clearly a man utd fan. blackpool and ian holloway have done a fantastic job.

as for man utd they are in debt by about at least £800m, therefore if and when the plug is pulled man utd will no longer exist.

bigguy01, I couldn't agree more when you say that most of the players at United are overpaid; Rooney, whatever he's actually on does very little to justify it, John O'Shit has just signed an £80,000 per week deal which simply beggars belief, such is his degree of averageness, Gary Neville embarrasses himself everytime he takes the field and yet he's on £80,000 p/w as well, Ferdinand's so injury-prone he spends more time tw@ing on Tw@ter than earning his £100,000+ p/w, to name but three cases. But then, Blackpool aside (the only club with the balls to stick to a £10,000 per week salary cap), which Premiership club's players aren't grossly overpaid? When an under-achiever like Jermain Pennant can forget that he even owned a Porsche in Spain, you just know that the game's gone mad; this is a guy who only came on as a sub for Stoke the other week at Old Trafford and did nothing.

Totally agree with you regards Ian Holloway for Manager of the Year; the bloke - and his team - have been an absolute breath of freshe air this season and I doubt many neutrals - Preston fans apart - would wish to see them go down. Certainly there have been more than three teams this season far worse than them so far.

Regards United ceasing to exist should the Glazers do a runner, that just wouldn't happen to any institution in the sport, business or commerce world of such standing. Wealthy Arabs, or others would just pick up the tab ala Manchester City or Roman Abramovich beforehand at Chelsea.

i dont think they will cease to exist bigguy if im being honest. i think man utd were the first sporting franchise to be worth one billion pounds and thats including american baseball and basketball teams and other teams. the glazers have got the club in debt but theres no doubt some1 will come in if they ever did a so called runner. when you have sporting teams like a man utd a liverpool, madrid, barca new york yankees baseball team la lakers basketball they will always be around cos there worldwide famous brands and the fanbases and support are huge.

Fair play to United, last night wasn't the first and it won't been the last time they battle out a victory 'like champions' as they say.

Just watched Mark Hughes (but he's far from the only one), saying they deserved more from the game than they got. Sorry, but the team that scores more goals deserves to win, however they get them (unless a goal is given when it shouldn't have been).

To be honest, I forgot the highlights were on and only saw the post match interviews when they mentioned the own goal. My point was managers who bang on about possession and being unlucky with their chances; to your point of "playing shit but winning", I'd take 1% possession if that touch was a winning goal
