Raul Meireles has today left Chelsea for Fenerbahçe. He joins a Fenerbahçe squad containing former Chelsea winger Miroslav Stoch plus ex-Premier League players Joseph Yobo and former Liverpool teammate Dirk Kuyt.

Why would Chelsea sell Raul Meireles ? He seemed to feature a fair bit for them and seemed to play pretty well. A bargain really at that price as well. So they've shifted , McEachran, Essien and Raul Meireles... They'll have to hope they don't get any injuries.

I wasn't a massive fan of Meireles, felt he was used wrongly in his time at Chelsea (Thought he was excellent for Portugal at Euros). But it was a ridiculous decision to sell him after the transfer window has shut

We now have only 3 recognised central midfielders in our squad in Mikel, Lampard & Romeu. Ramires can play there, but is seen as a winger under Robbie, and doesn't really fit into our current formation. Oscar may adapt to play deeper like Spurs done with Modric but that's a big burden on a 20 y/o. Not a very balanced squad.

As Money_Shot says we'll be screwed if we get any injuries in CM, or up front
