The nominations for this year's Oscars, recognizing the best films of 2013 were named today. Official website here:-

I have to say I don't recognise many of them from that list as representing the best films of 2013. One of the films is a black and white arty effort that few have heard of and even fewer have seen.

There's a lot of films I'd not recognized either, but American Hustle, 12 Years A Slave and Gravity would, I feel, be the stand out contenders.
