Li Hang beat Judd Trump 5-4 in a career best win. Jamie Jones caused another upset in beating Kyren Wilson.
Li now faces Ronnie O'Sullivan in the semi finals after the Rocket beat Ding Junhui 5-4.
Jones will face Mark Selby who beat Ricky Walden in a deciding frame.

Well done to Jamie too then.

Li gave it a good go, got a 4-1 lead, but Ronnie still prevailed 6-4, and then graciously put his win down to the snooker gods smiling on him.

Selby battered Jamie Jones 6-1, perhaps inspired by Ronnie saying Selby didn't need the win like Jamie did.

Selby battered Ronnie with a mini-session to spare.

Welsh Open to be played at Celtic Manor, which will make a change for everyone.

Stephen Hendry won't be there, though, as the computer said No.

Some BBC coverage on the red button, and BBC2 Wales for those of us with such access. The death of Doug Mountjoy will presumably cast some shadow, not that the BBC ever used him as a pundit, did they? Perhaps by Sunday they'll have a tribute package.

Barry Pinches drew Mark Selby, which meant he lost 4-1, but he did at least get telly time for a change, wherein Neal Foulds gave the distinct impression he hoped Pinches would fall under a bus, or at least off the tour (and his screen).

Selby I think stuffed the pink on a 147 attempt, which led to a trivia comment that - YES! - none other than Barry Pinches once hit a 147 at the Welsh Open, when playing Joe Johnson, possibly sometime in the 20th century.

O'Sullivan won 4-0.
Also through to round 3 are home hope Mark Williams as well as defending champion Shaun Murphy.
Ding Junhui is out after a 4-2 defeat to Pang Junxu.
