I have said on this board before that I am no particular fan of the Clarkson persona or his general views. I thought it surprising to see him advocate for staying in and worth posting for that reason too.

Hmmm would everyone complaining about Obama be complaining if he said that We should leave the EU course they wouldnt they would be welcoming his intervention he would be the saviour of the leave campaign and he would be welcomed with open arms

It really is nothing to do with him either way. Seems something cooked up to sway voters to Cameron, which i find both cynical and distasteful. Other than being the first black President, what has been so specatular about his terms in office?

Can you imagine the reaction of your typical American if the PM thought he could advise them what to do.

Today the CBI have said 80% of their members think UK should REMAIN. But they won't campaign about it.

The LEAVE camp have welcomed this (the not-campaigning bit).

How can this possibly be portrayed in the media with a straight face as good news for the LEAVE camp? But they are!

He's coming over to support Cameron's flagging campaign to remain under the control of the EU.
