Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures announced today that Michael Shannon will star in the role of General Zod in director Zack Snyder's new Superman film, titled Man of Steel. Also the film will be called the Man of Steel.

Gonna go see it with my younger brother when it comes out in July. Does look pretty good from the trailer. But then so did the second one and what a crock of shit that turned out to be.

Just been confirmed who Joseph Gordon Levitt will be playing in the Dark Night Rises.

JGL will be Gotham City cop John Blake, who's under a "special assignment" by Commissioner Gordon.

Marion Cotillard has also been confirmed, she's to play Wayne Enterprise board member Miranda Tate, who wants to help Batman Bruce Wayne continue "his father's philantropic endeavors" for Gotham City.

More Hobbit news Peter Jackson has just announced the titles and release dates of both films The first film will be called The Hobbit and will be out December 14, 2012 no clue whether thats worldwide or just the states and the second film will be called The Hobbit: There And Back Again and will be out in December 13, 2013 again no idea if thats worldwide or just the states. The full cast for the films are: Cate Blanchett as Galadriel; Orlando Bloom as Legolas; Ian Holm as the elder Bilbo; Christopher Lee as Saruman; Hugo Weaving as Elrond; Elijah Wood as Frodo; and Andy Serkis as Gollum. The ensemble cast also includes (in alphabetical order) Richard Armitage, Jed Brophy, Adam Brown, John Callen, Stephen Fry, Ryan Gage, Mark Hadlow, Peter Hambleton, Stephen Hunter, William Kircher, Sylvester McCoy, Bret McKenzie, Graham McTavish, Mike Mizrahi, James Nesbitt, Dean O'Gorman, Lee Pace, Mikael Persbrandt, Conan Stevens, Ken Stott, Jeffrey Thomas, and Aidan Turne. Not forgetting an McKellen as Gandalf the Grey, Martin Freeman as the young Bilbo Baggins. It will be shot in Digital 3D using the latest camera and stereo technology. Am just so glad that Peter Jackson will be the one directing both films .
