Just talking to a friend about this, he was saying in one chat show Des was talking about his career and successes he had along the way. Des went on to say that the hardest audience to please was at the Glasgow Empire, where he went on and failed with every joke, so decided to pretend to faint which he did. He was carried of stage taken to hospital, where his agent was waiting telling him he was back on stage in another 30 minutes. Des was gracious about the whole thing, and came over as a decent individual, despite at the time being a huge TV star

He also fronted a variety show Pot of Gold in the 90s which the Star (and then the Sun in the 2nd series) plugged via Page 3 Doubt any obituaries would stretch to include that vital info
