RE: Dr Who
Really enjoyed last nights episode of Doctor Who better than I expected, I thought at one moment that Rory was going to pop his clogs and the Doctor was going to have his wicked way with Amy but not to be, the special effects keep getting better, not as dark or as scary as the first 2 however but still a great start to season 6. I think Matt James and Karen Gillen seem more comfortable in their roles this season too and the onscreen chemistry is very noticeable as you can sense now they have seem to gel a hell of a lot better than last year. But like everything it takes time before the fruits of the labour is apparent. You need only need to look at Blackadder 1 and 2 to see a marked improvement in what can happen the longer the same cast stays together before they have the magic spark that makes a programme great.

RE: Dr Who
In memory of Elizabeth Sladen, the BBC are showing an old series from 1976 starring her and Tom Baker on BBC4.
I saw 2 episodes of "The Hand of Fear" last night, the last 2 episodes are on at 7.40pm tonight.
I must have seen it when it was originally on, but cannot remember it.

RE: Dr Who
Sorry to say it but I watched a bit of old series last night, just not a fan of the old shows, they really have not aged well, dull sets, no special effects and mostly rubbish acting. I really don't think the BBC could get away with that kind of show these days. Only a fan of the modern Doctor Who series.

RE: Dr Who
The recent episode had to be one of the most bizarre I've ever seen from Doctor Who, this series is really edging towards the more psychological aspect of it all, the special effects were amazing for a BBC production, I wouldn't like to put a figure on how much money each episode is costing but it's evident for all to see that the budget for this series appears to be significantly higher than previous down to the sheer elaborateness of the set's. This is something that the old Doctor Who of the 70's and 80's just didn't have, they were working on a shoe string budget as compared to what you see now.

RE: Dr Who
The first 2 episodes were co-productions with BBC America, so maybe the entire series has been handed a larger budget with some American money. It's good that a bigger budget didn't take anything away from the program, something that can't be said for Red Dwarf.

As for The Doctor's Wife, what a brilliant episode. The goodbye, or rather 'Hello', scene at the end was really moving.
