just broke on sky sports news that Man Utd have bid £40 million for mata

wouldn't surprise me if chelsea accepting man utd's bid for mata is a sweetner for them signing rooney in the summer!

have said on skysports news. mata has told friends he is leaving Chelsea and mata could make his man utd debut as soon as next week

News just in.....Chelsea star Mata has just been arrested for trying to do a U turn on the northbound carriageway of the M6!!

Mata will be a good buy and just the sort of player we need. Hopefully, the dismal performances have made the board realise investment in top players are needed if we want to remain as one of the wealthiest teams. After all that is what counts with them.

u bought arsenals best player last season and now chelsea's best player 4 the last 2 seasons. looks like rooney negotiations are going on as well now to get him a new contract. mite not be all that bad after all. still think u need gundogan and/or vidal, but rooney ,rvp, adnan and mata, starting too look quite frightening attacking wise.

Getting either Gundogan or Vidal would make me very happy. Get some stability in midfield and the pressure will be eased off the defence somewhat too...no accounting for DeGea's spot of juggling last night though

Michael Owen has tweeted to say to that Mata is believed not to be the only major signing this window. While the premier title is more or less out of the question a determined push for 4th spot could still be possible if the squad gets strengthened further. Champions League has to be a priority for next season. While it would not be disastrous for United given its Worldwide marketing appeal, it would still put a dent in the club's financial business plan.

i read that and got the feeling it mite hav sumthin to do with rooney signing a new deal. maybe rooney saw owen at the stables and told him something thats the feeling i got but maybe it mite be a new player
