But there is no mandate for the terms on which we invoke article 50, so when Boris has sorted out what the terms are going to be then let him fight an election on that basis. Let him ask for a mandate on that and let the country be the judge of the Boris negotiating prowess.

RE: Europe..IN or OUT??
Boris' first proper words since the shuffling victory speech; from tomorrow's Telegraph: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/06/...--and-alw/

He is notably keen to stress that "The only change [post-Brexit] – and it will not come in any great rush – is that the UK will extricate itself from the EU’s extraordinary and opaque system of legislation: the vast and growing corpus of law enacted by a European Court of Justice from which there can be no appeal."

There you go. Single market; free movement of people unchanged. He's fairly unequivocal. Only interested in changing certain laws.

The idea that the babeshows "are not that deep" is driven by those that don't wish to acknowledge how much effective customer service and a consideration of psychology impacts users' future interactions.

You misunderstand, the UK as just voted OUT, their pledge is to get the UK back IN.

You only need an overall majority to form a governent, and general elections get a much lower turn out than this referendum did, you coud end up with a government in with less votes than out recieve.

I just been watching some thing call 'peston on sunday', some rather comely female presenter just said (whilst talking about who's going to get the leader of the tories) more Tories voted out than in, I never knew that.

It's on ITV right now.

Does the USA, Chnia and so on have access to the single market?

But how does he know that the EU will agree to this?

^ He doesn't. But it's what he is aiming for by the looks of it doesn't it?

Presumably he has come to some sort of concensus with the other main Leave figures and this is going to be the basis from which he hopes to start negotiations with the EU.

I hope he finds that task easier than Cameron did! Rolleyes (That's presuming Johnson's going to be heading the negotiations of course. That in itself is a big if!)

They can make deals like anyone else. That is not the point. The point is Boris doesn't seem interested in changing the stated terms of our current deal if he can help it.

The UK had already opted out of any further political integration, so isn't any possible federal move simply irrelevant to us?

I know what the Boris point is, can you see the people who voted to leave standing for it? If he got the gig, he wouldn't be there long.

I was more interested in why people are so desperate, apparenlty Boris also, to keep the single market, clearly if that's the case you are better off in the EU than out, you can't have your cake and eat it. But other countries of the would are not in the single market, yes i know it's Britians biggest market, but equally we IMPORT FAR MORE from the EU than export to them, the UK market is huge.

The rest of the EU aren't going to say, well now you are out, you can do what ever you want and of course you can have access to the single market.
