The American's beat the world record in the semi finals of the Woman's Team Pursuit. The GB riders went right back and broke it back in their semi.

Thought Thiam was in the lead by 5 points from Jess

She is but next 2 events are not her strongest

Thiam's javelin is a major strength with a PB of 52.62m set THIS YEAR. Jess has a PB of 48.33 set in 2013!!
Jess now has a potentially BIG problem.
Already trailing by 5 points.
Thiam has been on fire in the throwing and jumping events.
If that continues and she matches or betters her Javelin PB then it will leave Jess needing to get somewhere near her PB to limit the damage before the 800m.
Jess badly needs a good javelin throw.
If she fails to produce it and Thiam fires then the deficit could be too big even bearing in mind the PB time difference in the 800m.
At this moment in time it is too close to call but make no mistake. Thiam is a very big threat for Gold.

Am I worried?
