Still he has done a good job for Liverpool so far. But he has walked out on them before and i bet he will do it again when liverpool start struggling next season[/b]

Hold on a second mate. A little bit of a harsh statement right there. Kenny resigned 20 years ago because his health suffered as a result of the Hillsborough disaster and it's aftermath. Kenny attended every funeral and he and his wife opened their home to the families of the victims and also survivors of the tragedy. In the following months he was the figurehead of the football club coming to terms with the worst moment in it's history. He resigned with Liverpool top of the table and challenging for a 19th title. He also said countless times as well as in his auto-biography that it was the hardest thing he ever had to do and 6 months later he wanted the job back.

What a lot of people dont know about Kenny Dalglish is that he was present at 3 of the worst disasters in British football history. He was a Celtic player in 1971 at Ibrox when 66 lives were lost after a crush in the crowd in an Old Firm match. He was a player for Liverpool in 1985 when 39 people lost their lives at Heysel including 32 Juventus supporters. And finally he was Liverpool manager in 1989 at Hillsborough when 96 lost their lives. I dont know any human being who could go through all that and not need a little break from your job.

To imply that he walked out when the going got tough might be a slightly harsh observation mate. I might come across as a Kenny Dalglish advocate on here at times and of course you can have your opinion but i just thought i'd share the above info with you just incase you hadnt been aware of it before Smile

Thanks for the info Master Yoda. I take back what I said about Kenny walking out on Liverpool and doing the same when liverpool start struggling. I know that he did bring success to Liverpool as both a player and then as a manager. And I have read that he has done a lot for the families of those who suffered losses at Hillsborough by setting up various charities with his wife etc. So Fair point there mate Smile

I was born in July 1990 and I only started watching football for the first time when the world cup was on in France 1998. That was the first time I watched football. So I was not around when liverpool were managed under Kenny. So i don't really know that much about him both as a player and a manager other than Wikipedia lol. So forgive me on that last comment. I was still annoyedat Kenny telling Wenger to piss off

I think Wenger should be asking questions of Eboue instead of having a go at Kenny Dalglish. It was a stupid, needless foul that led to the penalty. The whole Arsenal defence had a panic attack when Liverpool attacked them right at the end, all it needed was a hoof into Row Z and the game would have been over.
It's another example of why (unfortunately) Arsenal will fall short again in the league, as they now need to beat United and hope they slip up in another match. I just can't see that happening.

Still, it's not all bad. That result yesterday certainly did me a favour elsewhere Wink

It's a shame that we couldn't see or hear what Wegner said to Kenny.

But as the whistle blow and Kenny came over to shake his hand Wenger said something to Kenny.
Kenny reply.. "But it's a penalty"... to which again Wegner said something. Kenny got feed up with his childishness and told him "to piss off".

I'm not a fan of either team but I thought that the referee had a good match and the penalty and free kick calls were correct.

to be fair to wegner i think he was struggling to comprahend what had just happened, and dalglish walking towards him with a big grin on his face didn't help! i'm sure he saw kenny after the match and sorted it out. i think dalglish is one of the few premiership managers arsene get's on with!Smile

yodas already told you the reasons behind dalglish leaving liverpool and you can understand why he left. however he was back in management at blackburn within 8 months where he brought them up a division and then won the premier league with them before moving "upstairs" and then i believe leaving by mutual consent. he also left newcastle by mutual consent as well, so he never walked out on any1, he left by mutual consentbladewaveBig Grin

Yes it was a penalty.... the Liverpool player was very clever in getting across and shielding the ball... but it was a shove in the back.
The free kick seconds before could also have been given as a penalty as it was right on the line of the penalty area.

RE: Football Banter
it was clumsy but very harsh. eboue was looking up at the ball when he collided with lucas, who went over very easily. if anything it was an obstruction the other way. mariner should've blew his whistle for full time straight after the liverpool free kick. he waited a couple of seconds hoping for an excuse to give liverpool a penalty and one presented it's self. i would still point out that if the refs going to be consistant he should have added on another two mins for the liverpool penalty!

this is of course my opinion and has no legal standing other than it's completly and morally correct!!!Smile

incidently, just watched dalglish admit he didn't think it was a penalty either!! fuckin kuntin mariner kunt!!!!!

RE: Football Banter
It was a stupid and clumsy challenge by Eboue on Lucas. There was no need to even give the ref a decision to make as Lucas was going away from goal and the ref was about to blow for full-time. I think it was a penalty. Every one of the pundits who covered the game thought it was a penalty (even ex Gunner Alan Smith Big Grin ). What has been forgotten is that Liverpool had a stone wall penalty not given early on when Spearing was brought down** TongueTongue

**what handball?? Tongue

Judge me by my size do you? Hmmm? Hmmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the force. And a powerful ally it is.
