I can think of better strikers, but we don't necessarily need one of the better strikers, we specifically need one of the better finishers and he can definitely do that! We can do beautiful build up for days but we only have 90mins and somebody needs to put the ball in the damn net. Would be a good buy for us.

Anelka signs one year contract with West Brom

Catalunyan newspaper, Sport reporting that the deal has been done to bring Thiago Alcantara to United with a possible announcement tomorrow.

Rumour from Spanish football website that Barcelona are offering £25 million plus David Villa for Rooney. Not sure on accuracy of this but Pique has said in an interview yesterday, how well Rooney would fit in at Barca.

Chelsea's Demba Ba is reported to be in talks with Anzhi Makhachkala.

Looks like Cavani is going to PSG now for his buyout clause fee of £54m. He's a good player but they are mugs for paying that fee for Cavani. There is a reason every other club backed off at that price - it's because you're getting screwed if you pay it!

It'll be a weird league in France this season as well seeing PSG vs Monaco for the Championship.
