RE: Football Banter
I think what a lot of people are missing is the way the promoted sides have played this season. Blackpool, Newcastle and West brom were expected to be the premierships whipping boys, but instead they have surprised a lot people with the way they have played. Holloway, Houghton and Di Matteo ( before the latter two were disgracefully sacked ) encouraged their teams to play attacking free flowing football where possible, instead of sitting back and trying damage limitation tactics. They may have got the odd drubbing but they have also scored far more goals than expected, hence the unexpected results.

This in turn i believe has encouraged other teams to be more adventurous instead of just shutting up shop and trying to get a draw. Perhaps the quality of the past few seasons has not been present this term but that i believe is down to the rest of the premiership sides having more belief in themselves and stopping the big boys from playing their best football, and as a result the premiership is a far more interesting place.

It's the weirdness of the England job, Capello, top class club manager. Sven, top class club manager, yeah, yeah, google his record.

I blame the players. Bottlers. I wish it was not the case but the evidence is pointing towards that fact.

Bottlers. annoyed

RE: Football Banter
also there are alot of underrated players in those teams who have stepped up (adam at blackpool, odemwingie at west brom etc) and the so called super star players (rooney, fabregas, half of the man city team, chelsea) are struggling or are overrated.

the "smaller" clubs their sum is greater than their parts and the "bigger clubs" rely on 2 or 3 players to get the goals or create chances. i think around 45+ points will be enough.

Three points separating 8 teams, any of which could go down, if it stays that way till the last couple of games it will go down in history as the most exciting season EVERSmileSmile

A dream scenario for the TRUE football fanSmileSmile

True, Lancelot! It's certainly looking like it's going to be an exciting end to the season, although I certainly hope that no-one mistakes the word exciting for quality, as this season the quality level, especially at the top end of the table has been one of the worst I've ever seen.

I'm actually beginning to wonder if anyone wants to win the Premiership this seasonSurprised! Today United were truly appalling in the first half; true we were missing most of our defence and Howard Webb, but Jonny Evans has regressed so much that his confidence is now shot to pieces to the extent that he's now instilling a lack of confidence amongst all his teammates like a foul disease spreading like wildfire. It was actually a relief when the [unt was sent-offSad! His ineptitude even spread to Giggs, who played like he'd put his boots on the wrong feetannoyed!

I don't give a fuck about International football, but I'm so glad that it's back next week to allow time for the injuries to healSmile
course you dont give a shit about international football lindor cos ur from wales mate and we know what ur national sport is.Smile
