RE: Football Banter
I think the problem is that once trams are promoted to premier league then managers aren't often given enough time to get results, Lambert is a good manager but I think quite often owners aren't always prepared to give manager the time they need to get a good start in PL

times we were in premier league we have always been competitive
The solution is simple
Get Lambert to get you into the premier league
And than get Big Sam in to consolidate your position in the premier league.
Maybe good idea not to sack him when you are lying 8th in the premier league
for a back stabbing Scotsmen who talks better game than he delivers, though.

RE: Football Banter
Oooh that hurts especially from a west ham fan who wanted him out after a fairly sucessful season last year Wink

problem with big sam was he thought he was 2 big for the club the i should be managing a top 4 club or a european giant interview did for him. you was right about kean he should have gone the season where we stayed in the PL by skin of teeth by beating wolves on last day of season . there was something fishy going on behind the scenes then think Venkys took advice of those they shouldnt have and undermined people like john williams who were part of the sucessful years after the death of jack walker

the whole sale of the club from the trust to vnekys was more about jack walkers kids and his estate than the club apparently the will said that a substantial amount of any sale of jack walker airline walker air which became Fly Be would go to the club rather than them so selling the club for however much they sold it for would mean that they would get all the proceeds from the sale of the rest of the stake which coincidetly happened a few months later

RE: Football Banter
Haha WestHam are not exactly regretting their decision are they? When was the last time Sam beat Arsenal at the emirates, liverpool at anfield, man city at the city of Manchester stadium and Chelsea any where?

I think you should of kept Sam on and than predictably let him go to a bigger club and get compensation. I'm not a fan of his, the football he plays is dire. However he was the perfect man to get us up and keep us up. He did what he said he would do on tin nothing more nothing less. Also WestHam plummeted from 4th at Christmas to finishing 13 th. I don't think WestHam are exactly ruing the decision to get rid of him. Would Payet have played under him? Would he bollocks?

Sam is perfect for Sunderland at the moment. He will keep them up this season, consolidate their position in the premier league next and than predictably the season after fans will be calling for his head saying ' come back Paulo all is forgiven' he is a brilliant 3 year Manager but beyond that he makes clubs and their supporters lose the will to live.

I never liked sam because he managed the scum to the south of me Bolton Wink

nah he was playing to negative football that was the problem with him. we were used to watching the hughes style of footie nice passing moves ok we could play the rough stuff( Came bottom on fair play league all 4 seasons of Hughes was there Wink ) when needed usally against the scousers and arsenal hahaha but that hughes team over achevied we were used to decent cup runs hughes made 3 fa cup semi's and we were contenders for europe finished 6th and 7th

Hughes also bought well buying benni mcarthy and Roque Santa cruz for a couple of million and selling them for a fucking fortune ( dont know how much your lot paid for mcarthy Wink ) but then they disappeared Wink

David bentley bought him 500,000 k and made him and england international sold to spurs for 18million and he turned shite overnight lol

RE: Football Banter
That's Mark Hughes philosophy in a nut shell 'good movement lots of neat Intricate passing on the ball, off the ball kick shit of anything that moves'
He did very well at city was harshly treated by them.

Sherwood would have been a good fit at Blackburn if given time. I just hope he is not seen as damaged goods. He knows what it means to play for them and would have the backing off the fans. Think Lambert will be a good appointment. He had a lot of injuries at Villa which were not taken into considerate. Bolton really plummeting arent they? I rate Neil Lennon but it certainly is not happening for them that's for sure.

Don't remind me with Benni Mcarthy. He was about 5 stone over weight when he played for us. We have Avram Grant to thank for that. Basically he got the job because his wife and Golds wife went to the same synagogue and thought be was a nice bloke. When they got relegated at Wigan Gold sacked him on the spot and did everything apart from make him find his own way home. It was about as an inspired appointment as Keanes was at Black burn.

RE: Football Banter
Not good for most of the lancashire clubs especially 3-5 years ago most were in the Premier league. Wigan seemed to have stabilised this season after back to back relegations Blackpool are still in the shit

we seemed to have stabilised after shocking start mind you most of that was due to bad luck especially with cunting ref's Wink

the Dingles seemed to be the best placed to have best chance hate to say it lol

I agree the chairman of Blackpool seems to be determined to run them into the ground. I remember a few years ago when lancanshire won every division including the conference. I suppose these things are cyclical. I do Like burnley. Love the ginger Mourinho. Be good to see both Blackburn and Burnley in the top division some time.

Steve Kean, formerly of Blackburn, has now become a title winning manager. His current club, Duli Pengiran Muda Mahkota, clinched the Singapore League yesterday, finishing the season 4pts clear at the top.
