I'd like to share a personal story. This may come across as a bit geeky, a bit nerdy, but it's become a hobby. This seemed like a good place to post.
This year, I started collecting Funko Pop vinyl figurines. I saw them as collectable valuables, not toys. After reading more into it, I found that there are communities and social groups dedicated to it.
I now have 36. Another two on the way on order, one coming tomorrow and another in about two weeks. I find it a constructive, calming, positive activity. It's helped to have something else to focus on. I keep them in their boxes and arranged in a display bookcase, dusted and cleaned.
Maybe one day they'll earn me some money, maybe not. There's a challenging aspect in the sense that there's so many to find and there are many that are part of mini groups. I've found it enjoyable to complete a mini set. I'm finding it fun searching for items from my favourite films, books, TV shows, sports.
The point is, it's nice to have something to do to take your mind off things, when the isolation and loneliness hits. It's helped me with my mental health and anxiety.
The Forbidden Planet shop is a goldmine. It has become my second favourite shop. The first being Gregg's.
