I'm just back this evening from a weekend away in Liverpool of all places so that makes it even nicer again . Saw the game replayed in full on tv this evening and to be honest Liverpool should have been home and hosed by half time. United got back in it by (surprise, surprise) a dodgey penalty being awarded. I agree the ref was terrible and the sendings off were strange to say the least. However, fair dues to the united youth team, they were the underdogs going into it and fought back well even if they were given a little helping hand on the way There's more than just Sterling on that young Liverpool side that's gonna make the grade by the way.

I see you never mentioned the fact that 3 man utd "fans" were arrested and 6 more thrown out of the ground for being drunken disorderly, being aggressive towards stewards, setting off flares and singing Hillsborough songs. Singing songs about disasters, and behaviour like is never acceptable but at a game which kicks off at 11:30 on a Sunday morning and in a game between 16/17 year olds is particularly disgusting.

It was so bad from these fans that a united spokesman said an enquiry would be made into the behaviour of those "fans". Believe it when i see it.

i cant understand why fans of teams do this. am i missing something here, is it all fans at all football stadiums who do this? you would think that fans who support teams who have had to deal with disasters would know how it feels and they should know better. you are right it is disgusting, lets hope its dealt with and lets hope its stopped at all football stadiums if it does go on at all of them.

I'm not sure about other clubs but thee are a tiny minority of man u fans who constantly sing about hillsborough and heysel and also a tiny minority of our own who sing about munich when we play man utd. It's disgusting and these fans from both sides should be hunted down and banned from football grounds.

However for it to happen today at a match between kids of 16/17 is extra appalling. Ridiculous.

The tickets were £4 and a £1 Yoda.Prices aimed at families and kids who can't get to games.They go to Anfield on a Sunday afternoon to enjoy the match and that's what those wankers bring over...Fuckin grown men,disgrace.

I know a few lads who took their kids to the match who rarely get to Anfield and had to put up with it.

It's not a dig at all united fans,just the wankers involved in that shit today.

Ya mate, I was out at the ground yesterday/ Saturday and took the stadium tour. Hadnt taken it for a couple of years myself and also a mate of mine who supports Villa wanted to take a peek so i brought him out there. The lads doin the tour were saying they were expecting up to 15,000 for the game and as you said it'd be mostly families. I'd have gone to it myself only i had my flight home to catch.

As you said, for grown men to turn up pissed outta their brains and to behave that way in front of kids and families was shocking. John Aldridge was commentating and said today that he never saw abuse and poison like it from such a small group of morons (and he's seen a fair bit in his time).

Great trip mate, always a pleasure. Stayed Friday and Saturday night. Did the pub crawls around Matthew Street and Concert Square. I hope to get back over and catch a game before the season is over.

these so called "fans" should be not allowed any football game. i hope man utd and liverpool take action against along with the fa. fans have been banned for less.
