Talking Pictures: John Mills
Early episode, with Sylvia Sims able to mention in narration that she worked with him quite notoriously on Ice Cold in Alex. He later sings the praises of Lord Mountbatten over In Which We Serve, presumably unaware of the late Lord's insalubrious private life.

The Listening Post
A look at whether Iran faces war or peace, plus the reality about "Stooge Jr". Also a special item with Cory Doctorow assessing AI as a TechBros scam.

Global Public Square
More rubbish on the prospects for Iran, but a useful closing piece on the looming energy crisis largely generated by the thirst for AI.

Notable for his sincere tribute to the lost Sycamore Gap tree, and visiting a sculpture being made to commemorate it.

Mountains, castles, apricots... Austria has them all.

Late Night w/Seth Meyers
The only particularly interesting guest was Alan Cumming, who talked Hogmanay traditions, returning as Nightcrawler in "Avengers: Doomsday", and curating his festival in Pitlochry (which ran over this weekend & well).

Shackleton's Cabin
Sven Habermann, from his Irish workshop, learns that the great explorer's cabin has been used as a shed in Norway for 90+ years, but has now come to be in his hands, and which he uses to create a replica, as well as relating the story of his life and death. Ranulph Fiennes and Shackleton's grand-daughter also have wisdom to share.

It's My Pleasure - Roy Hattersley on Philip Larkin
Amusing repeat from 1982, as Roy repeatedly states how much he hates Larkin and his attitudes, but respects his gifts as a poet. Judi Dench and Alan Bennett read several of Baldie Phil's poems, and Roy gamely has a crack at reading one out to close the show.
