Well the World Cup's over for another 4 years!! Now let's focus on the issues that face our domestic game. I know in the WC thread some started discussing the 3rd/4th place thing for the Premier League & the FA Cup & World Cup. If there is any way to improve the FA Cup then they have to have to try out putting the semis over 2 legs like they do for the League Cup and I feel for that to work they would probably need to restructure the competition a little by reducing the Qualifying rounds by 1. If that was done, then I do not see why they then can't have 3rd/place playoff for it in mid week the week before the final at Wembley. I think staging the Semis at Wembley really doesn't work for me any more.

The other thing I would be concerned about is how far we have fallen down the FIFA rankings when they are next released If we are outside the top 10 or top 16, then surely that HAS to be more than enough of a concern to make the FA, FL & PL to stop bickering about how the game is run and start doing something constructively, & physically TOGETHER because being outside the top 16 would tell me that we are not moving forward and addressing our game's problems.

I would say that Barca will be finding it hard to put Neymar, Messi and Suarez in the same team. It would probably take a lot of persuading Messi to adopt a Gerrard type role for that to happen

I noticed last night that Dundee United have added another pre season friendly onto their list and its against Leeds United

The match will kick off at Elland Road on Saturday 2nd August with a 3PM kick off.

I hope you turn up for the kick about. Apparently some team due to play a friendly against Leeds did not bother to turn up. They could have at least had the decency to ring the clubhouse at Leeds to let them know

We won our first pre-season friendly 16-0

Dundee might just give us a good game, we sometimes struggle against small unknown clubs

Eh its Dundee United Leeds are playing, we have 2 teams in the City

Its just a friendly but we like Leeds we also have a proud history - last 4 of the European Cup (now called Champions League) in 1984 and ofcourse UEFA Cup Runners up having beaten Barcelona home and away on route to the final in 1987, not to mention having won the Premier League once in 1983 and the Scottish Cup twice - 1994 and 2010.

All in all - not a bad achievement for a provincial unknown club
