And exactly what is wrong with sending out an environmental message to young viewers? Does it all have be kill or be killed? What did they say about war in the episode?

Perhaps being new here you should show a little patience with us old neanderthal forum members instead of criticising for having different tastes and views.
I don't think many on this thread are asking for a Michael Bay style. They just want to see better scripts and decent acting. By all means enjoy environmental messages and any other pc agendas that the bbc want to get across...but young minds need to also learn it can be a cold, hard and dangerous world out there that no amount of 'intelligent' writing will alter.

Subtlety of writing?

Hey kids, don't take your medication!
Hey kids, shine torch light in the eyes of tigers (or bullies) to escape!
Hey kids, the tree pixies are able to save the planet from solar catastrophe!

Huh?!

Ironically I was thinking the opposite. This seems to be an 'how bad doctor who is these days' thread. Personally I don't see it and have stated this, if you look back, most of the replies to my post have been quite condescending and borderline rude. As if this new upstart has no idea what they are talking about; I certainly have never felt welcome here - I even notice on your post that the one in bold black (admin) has thanked you, therefore agreeing with you.

I may be new to the forum (which really has nothing to do with it) but I have seen a lot of doctor who from the early 70's and not only do I not see where it's 'dumbed down' or bad writing etc I think it's actually much better than it use to be, especially now the wishy washy touchy feely doctors have gone.

I just put it down to a generational thing.

RE: Dr Who
^^The point I was trying make was that you are fully entitled to your opinion. Fine and glad you like the present Doctor. I'm sure many out there do. Just accept that some others do not, nor do they deserve criticism for having a differing view. It doesn't make their opinions wrong (just as your opinion is not wrong).

My point exactly.

I'm not exactly sure i have criticized anyone for not liking it, but I'll leave you all to it. Count me out this one.

RE: Dr Who
If we all agreed life would be pretty boring. It just shows what people feel when there are posts about a family tv programme on essentially a porn website, there's a lot of love for Dr Who legacy and new. When Dr who is good it can be the best thing on TV - When it's bad it can be dire. We all want the good stuff, ok X episode some people liked and some people didn't and that's really why there is a forum and this thread is an example. All opinions are equal and that is what creates discussion.

One thing I do like about this series is the fact the humour is not always slapstick or visual. Saturday's episode had some brilliant one liners.

RE: Dr Who
Bit of a disappointment after the last two.
I think where it really fell down was, he didn't actually do anything. What happened would have happened just the same if he hadn't been there. Ok, he did phone the whole world, but that was almost as daft as voting to kill the moon by switching all the lights off.

Still, the trailer for the finale looks good so here's hoping Smile

RE: Dr Who
one of the better things about this series of dr who is that all 13 eps are shown in one run rather than being split into 2 parts.
