Good to see two family men finishing 34 frames by 10pm so the kids didn't need to stay up too late (though some of them might have done).

Barry Hearn already slagging off Trump and Ding for not doing better, although Trump at least looked OK until he got outgunned by Higgins.

Dave Gilbert beat Barry Hawkins to reach tomorrow's World Open final, only his 2nd ever ranking title final, where he will play either world champ Mark Williams or Noppon Saengkham.

Hawkins was the subject of an abusive message on Twitter afterwards. FWIW, I'm not on Twitter.

Williams was 5-2 down to Saengkham, but rallied masterfully to win 6-5, making Gilbert's odds look that much longer tomorrow.

Gilbert needed only 1 frame for victory, but Williams came back to win the final frame.

In less overdue news, Kyren Wilson beat Peter Ebdon 4-2 last Sunday to win the Paul Hunter Classic, his 1st ranking title since 2015, and it was Ebdon's 1st ranking final since 2012.

The upcoming Indian Open has been postponed because of the Kerala floods.
