What TV show did you last watch?

The 3rd British classic in a row, this time looking into a certain war film. Regular contributor Christina Newland manages to miss out, leaving just the usual 3 blokes to repeat each other. Funny that they praise some bloke for writing it (and the Great Escape and Reach For The Sky), but not that the bloody opening credits mention Guy Gibson's own book. They do give praise to the tremendous ending, though.

CM: Scott of the Antarctic
A colour choice, but still somewhat historical. John Mills trudges around Ealing sets, whilst poor cinematographers visit the real Antarctic (and Switzerland and Norway). Newland returns though; I'm bemused they've even dropped using occasional outside contributors.

Someone charmingly up for this, the saga of his grandfather turning out to be a WW2 POW was quite something, but the latter stuff with the gruesome Hugh deSpenser, and the final discovery of his royal antecedent was probably more than anyone expected.

WDYTYA? Diane Morgan
Last in the series, and another somewhat jolly effort from someone keyed up to the cliches of the show. She got sent to glamour hotspots like Dumfries and Moenchengladbach (though alas clearly not a footie fan at the latter). Moving meet-up back in Farnworth to finish, though.

Real Thick Glasses
A short in which a sufferer of poor eyesight meets a collector, also with poor eyesight. Apparently FB has plenty of groups on the topic, but I think I'd be better off finding other communities instead.

CM: Flash Gordon
Still in colour, and a different kind of historical. They go a bit OTT in suggesting this single-handedly led to Alan Rickman in Die Hard, let alone the MCU etc, since Superman The Movie preceded this by a few years (and has many comparisons which they also didn't bother with). Newland was AWOL again.

HARDtalk w/Tim Sebastian - Norman Jewison
The film director was on in 1999, here repeated alongside Fiddler on the Roof. Though the only films he talks about are Rollerball, In The Heat of the Night and The Russians Are Coming! (x2), all of which he finds still topical.

The Bottom Line
Steve Clemons talks to Angela Stent and Andrey Kortonov about the prospects for peace in Ukraine, and they surprisingly come to a lot of agreement. Then he talks to Democrat congressman Ro Khanna about the ICE antics. Khanna seems sure the Dems will rebound in 18 months time, and that Americans need to improve their church-going to help society (because religion has done wonders for Israel and Iran, and India for that matter).
