A word for Kyren Wilson and Barry Hawkins too.
Wilson put up a very good performance against Higgins bearing in mind it was his first time in the one table set up at the Crucible.
And poor Barry Hawkins, led for virtually the whole match and lost it right at the end.
He has developed an unenviable habit of being the eternal nearly man.
I feel for him. He must be inconsolable.

Agree with you there about Wilson and Hawkins - Wilson looked comfortable and assured from very early on, but it was the matchplay and experience of Higgins was always going to be hard to overcome.

I was absolutely gutted for Hawkins, I really felt for him last night. I'm not his biggest fan but I honestly thought up until it got to 15-15 he'd played as good as anybody else had throughout the fortnight. After the circumstances with his brother in law committing suicide last year too it would've been nice to see him finally get his hands on the big one. I wonder if he has missed his chance now. He does now have a bit of a reputation for being the nearly man and throwing away a lead in big matches. The 90's had Jimmy White, you could say it was Matthew Stevens in the 00's and now Barry Hawkins - All players who consistently played well in the World Championship but could never get over the line.

I don't like Pob-face Hawkins and I didn't like Mopey Stevens either

I notice this time Williams did get a 4-0 lead after a late night finish, as I said Higgins would after his late finish with Trump

Amazing how this match has changed since it went 7-7 last night and Higgins looked like the player that was going to kick on and go on a charge. At this rate there won't need to be a final session

Higgins mounting a comeback winning 3 in a row to make it 14-10, then pushes the boat out on a shot that was very risky after Williams missed a black and was fortunate not to leave anything. Needs to get his head screwed on and play the right shot and not give into the frustration. Williams leads 15-10

Higgins did all the hard work to get back all square and williams took last 2 frames leading 17-15

Arrrgggg williams missed the pink when he was about to win and then higgins clears up 17-16 to williams
