Slow boards help!!!... check here

Well today seems to be awfully slow at loading the pages. It seems to be taking ages to load your advertising banners, which is slowing everything else down.

I don't know if it's a problem with their server or ours.

I have traked down the problem that's slowing certain pages down.

It's just one of your adverts for Elite. In particular, this one : http://www.babechannels.co.uk/big.swf

It seems to take ages to load, which ends up slowing the rest of the page down.

Thanks for your investigative work. At the moment the problem seems to have resolved itself, but I'll keep an eye on it nevertheless.

All banners can be turned off with adblock plus in firefox.

I'd totally forgot about using that. Once it was added into the filter list, the pages fire-up no problem. Cheers.

I think if it had been an animated gif, rather than a shockwave flash object I wouldn't have had the problem. But for some unknown reason my system doesn't like swf banners.

ADDITION : No Problem SM© I have only blocked the offending one. I have left all the others intact.

From people who don't use firefox.

When we experienced problems like this before, the forum was upgraded to make the connection stronger and faster even at busy times so it could to deal with the level of ever increasing traffic we get on this site.

I haven't felt any slowness since the upgrade, until now. So I want to know why has it suddenly become slow again, I know there are alot of users online but I think we've had busier nights on here since the upgrade where my connection has been fine.

Edit: The connection seems to be fine now.

The forum seems slow this evening, taking a second or two to load new threads/pages, even the ones without lots of imagechunk pics.

I have found that I can only navigate around this board quickly when I'm not signed in. Once I'm signed in, it's always slow as molasses. I don't have this problem at any other forums.
