The Cameroon team's behaviour may have been abysmal in the match against England, and I think Phil Neville was right to speak out about it, but at least it gave women's football a big media boost. The match is the lead story on the back page of every national newspaper this morning.

Phil is right to speak out about it, Cameroon have had great men's teams over the years, who could forget their exploits in in Italia '90? and it is disappointing that the Cameroon ladies resorted to the rough stuff as it takes a little shine off the England victory.

After the much talked about win over Cameroon yesterday, England now have a quarter-final against Norway, who did well to put out Australia in the last round. They only beat them on penalties, but I think most people would agree that Norway were the better side and deserved to win. Australia became the first country in the top 10 of the FIFA rankings to be knocked out of the tournament.

The favourites USA survived a scare against Spain to squeeze through 2-1. Their quarter final will be against the hosts France.

RE: 2019 Women’s World Cup
It's been an outstanding tournament for Europe so far, with Norway and Sweden beating more highly ranked teams from outside of Europe and Spain pushing USA so hard. Italy and the Netherlands are in action today, and have tough matches against China and Japan respectively, but if they both won it would mean 7 European sides going through. Even if they both lose, there will be 5 European sides in the quarter-finals for the first time since 1995.

RE: 2019 Women’s World Cup
The main problem in the England v Cameroon match was they showed the VAR decisions on the screen in the stadium. The late flag that went up for England's second goal make Cameroon's players believe VAR had overruled the lineswoman as Duggan was offside but not interfering with play. I think they were unlucky with their disallowed goal. In terms of the "elbow" in the first half and tackle on touchline surely VAR could override the referee's decision if they thought it was wrong and tell referee that they should have been red cards

Thought USA got away with one against Spain with a couple of dubious penalties

Temperatures forecast to reach 45 C later this week in France, it's going to be a taster of what it might be like in Qatar. Could matches be postponed if it gets really bad?

I don't think matches can be postponed, but FIFA have said that there will be 'cooling breaks' in play during high temperatures. Plus most of the remaining matches are 9:00 kick offs French time, so hopefully it won't be so hot by then.
