It's been announced ESPN will launch a new channel on 3rd August. It'll show the newly acquired batch of EPL games along wit some further US sports.

The price is set at £9 for sky sports subcribers, £12 for non-sky sports subscribers. These prices are so far only for sky, ESPN are in talk with other tv providers like virgin etc to broadcast the channel hopefully at a reasonable price.

Not a bad price wouldn't surprise me if it goes up by next season though.
So £9 on top of sky sports
£90 in total for the season ain't bad, doubt I'll be getting it though my team will no doubt only be on 3 times 4 at a push.
I think the good thing is that sky sports are the producers wit espn simply brandin it. And u'l be able to subscribe for a single month if u wish to, no stupid connection fees or min contracts hopefully.
BUMP!!

has anyone got ESPN? is it any good and how much is it? can you also get it like you could with setanta where you have a sky box but no longer subscribe to sky or do you have to have a sky subscription too?
no i never paid for it waste o money
i recommend it Big Grin
No doubt the coverage and presentation is good enough, the problem facing ESPN is the same as Setanta and ITV digital before it, namely SKY already has millions of subcribers paying monthly subscriptions and most of these are unwilling or unable to pay an EXTRA £9 every month to watch a few extra Premier league games. I have a SKYSPORTS subcription so I can watch at least 2 Prem games every week and when I want to watch Birmingham away matches I can go to at least 2 local pubs where the games are shown live on foreign satelite channels.
For all you sports fans ;ESPN is FREE just for this weekend. SmileSmile
Highlights include, -tonight 1 A.M.- N.B.A. Lakers V Knicks: Saturday 8 pm Juventus V Roma: Sunday 7 pm, the Milan derby.
