Looks like he's joined the mancs, it will be his last chance to succeed, but he definitely has to stay fit.He is and always will be a goalscorer so he should do well at utd.

The thing that pissed us Liverpool supporters off about him when he was doing well for us was that every time he did an interview all he went on about was 'England this,England that, blah, blah, blah.'

Anyway good luck to him & listen to his first interview to hear how many times he mentions Eng-er-land.
Sounds like a good deal to me if it goes through, its just his injury's that have let him down.
Its a done deal!
As a united fan I think we've got a good deal. He's not going to be expected to play week in week out, he'll get far better service than he did at newcastle, he'll teach the kids a thing or two, and all he's costing is wages plus he'll be able to talk horse racing with ferguson. But seriously if he's half as good as henrik larson was then we've just got the best deal of the summer and england might just have got the one striker they could rely on to score when it matters back where he belongs - in a white shirt.
If he stays fit and finds his old form, it's a magnificent signing. The thing is, can he actually stay fit? I remain doubtful of that myself... I suppose even if he's only fit for 50% of the matches, he's an excellent option to have on the bench, particularly when signed for free, but I would hope he's fit enough to rekindle his old England partnership with Rooney on a regular basis. Especially when you take the wage he's likely to get into account.
michael owen has signed a 2 year contract at manchester utd it has said on sky sports news

He does belong in a white shirt(straightjacket) for leaving Liverpool to join Madrid.....Nutjob Big Grin
This could be a great deal for Manchester Utd as long as he gets/stays fit.

Speaking as a non Man U fan it could also work out well for England, if Michael starts scoring goals, gets his confidence back then who knows, A fit and confident Michael Owen would certainly benefit Englands chances next year.
keeping michael fit,and playing with rooney , could be what we need for england team, coming up to world cup.
i think its a great signing. if owen can get fit and back to his best hell be a great asset for united and the fact that he has a low wage which will only be boosted if he plays and scores for united means he will be motivated to do well
