Maybe one for the superfans among us, still worth a look for any casual fans, especially if the shows suck tonight, coverage starts from 00.30 on Sky Sports NFL.
Notre Dame (5-2) (Fighting Irish) host USC Trojans (6-0) Notre Dame are slight favourites despite USC being unbeaten. The weather was expected to be nasty, windy and wet, but now more likely to be dry, although the wind could disrupt the passing and kicking game.
Notre Dame became my team as they would be featured often on tv. Back then College Football was more run orientated, but the passing game has evolved more now, but not to the dominant extent of the NFL.

This isn't the first time sky have shown college football, they show it on a fairly regular basis
^^ Err yes, I thought I'd made that clear, I did mention tv. This forum wasn't here when I followed it, not at all surprised we didn't have a thread, as it's a bit niche.
Figured it was worth drawing to people's attention who may not be in the know, and or imagined it was a much inferior standard. It does offer something slightly different to the NFL, but as most will know it's the main feeder, and an early look at future stars.
Notre Dame 48 - 20 USC
Enjoyed the game, as last year's Heisman Trophy winning QB Caleb Williams threw 3 ints. and was sacked and hurried throughout. The Sothern California star is expected to be the No.1 Draft pick in 2024.
Ex Notre Dame and 49er legend Joe Montana was attending and the son of his favourite receiver, Hall of Famer Jerry Rice caught a TD pass for USC.
The main difference between NCAA and NFL is the wider hashmarks in NCAA, resulting in a narrow short side field. I believe the NFL made the change about 50 years back. It does have an impact on formations and plays with the NFL having more centre field plays. It also means that in the NCAA the kicker has a more angled kick. I quite like the nuanced effect that it brings to the games.
Sky Sports sign NCAA rights deal through to 2025
