Some of my earliest TV memories were watching him perform on the comedy panel charades game 'Give Us a Clue' as captain of the men's team. Great banter with hosts Michael Aspel and Michael Parkinson and women's team captains Una Stubbs and later, Liza Goddard.
RIP Lionel.

One of the last greats left from a a great entertainment era
He was pretty much like Sir Bruce Forsyth an all around performer and was great as a host or team captain.
Condolences to all family. He should be posthumously knighted for his services in the New Year's Honours nobody deserved a knighthood better, than he did.
Thank you Lionel (hopefully posthumously Sir Lionel) for al your entertainmentl
