Wow its all kicking off
Reports of 5 English Clubs of the Top 6 Clubs and others in Europe to announce a European Super league soon must be something as all the Football Authorites are having Kittens and making statements

Was just going to create a thread for this.
But thanks for creating this Hannahspet.
I think it's disgusting what's happening myself and would destroy the game just shows what losing just a little bit of money during coronavirus does to the big clubs.

It’s now reportedly 6 English clubs as Manchester City have signed up apparently. The announcement is due around 9:30pm tonight
I’m not a football fan, but I think this is disgusting as well and makes me glad I’m not a football fan more than ever
As usual with Football greed will win the day. It's why I gave up on the game years ago.
I can understand why they are doing this and the Hypocracy from the likes of UEFA and the Premier League as well as La Liga
the media is the same they are all trying to protect the money making machine for themselves
Something like this doesn't get to such a stage without principle agreements of stuff like broadcast rights
its just a case of the Clubs that produce most of the money in football not wanting to give control to others
Would it render the CL useless and I wonder if PL champions would be promoted or not. I can actually see this snowball where more clubs OUTSIDE EUROPE possibly getting involved.
This will probably could hurt the national teams of the clubs involved as well.
I would not be surprised if the set up would ban the clubs and players not allowed to play at international level.
Without the proper financial controls and letting the money in the game get to an obscene amount then this was always inevitable. You let the greed and money grabbing spiral out of control then expect that greed to take precedence over any sense of morality, principles or the greater good of the game or whatever.
Saw Gary Neville's rant on Sky sports and he's right on all points, although it's the ultimate hypocrisy given that he works for the crowd who basically kick started the business model that everyone is shitting themselves over now.
Nothing like a bit of elitist greed is there?
It doesn't surprise me one iota but equally I suspect the whole idea may ultimately die on it's arse for a whole variety of reasons
.
^Just watched that and have to agree with him despite working for Sky he is a football man (And fan) first and foremost through and through and he spoke so passionately.
When will we get any further statement on this?
Neville also is the guy who bought into Salford and been using money to get them to where they are now so he is the biggest hypocrite of them all
