I think that the TV companies have gone overboard on the coverage of the Duke of Edinburgh with all the changes to the schedules.

Edit; I've moved the debate over the BBC out of the memorium thread.
^I agree completely. It's been said that his funeral will be a low key family ceremony at his own request. He would probably be amused by the wall to wall coverage today.

The BBC especially. Channels one & Two showing exactly the same thing and Three off air.
The BBC have previous for this sort of shite, my mum used to tell me how annoyed everyone got with them after Kennedy got shot... My uncle even phoned them up and gave them a right ear full Bounce

He didn't look well the last time he went driving either bladewave

Telly overload is insane, even QVC went off for hours (and radio too!). The knowledge that it's a dry run for when YKW carks it adds to the gloom.

I've personally known 2 people (and a cat!) die in the last 2 years - I mourned them, I'll spare my other mourning for the other 99 year olds whose deaths won't attract the same attention; that bloke in Norway who wasn't found for 9 years, for one (admittedly not 99).

Agree to an extent. BBC in particular have gone overboard on the changes, at one point they had BBC1, 2 & the news channel all showing the same, plus they suspended bbc4 which was scheduled to show the England women’s football team. Plus their coverage doesn’t stop until Saturday afternoon!

ITV isn’t much better as it’s been wall to wall coverage since lunchtime & their coverage doesn’t stop until the Grand National on Saturday afternoon!!

C4 & C5 though have been alright
Yeah was a bit overboard by all means BBC1 but BBC2 and 4 even Parliament channel had the same coverage

think they got more complaints about that than they would have got if they hadnt have done anything

Anyone else think Harry and Megans statement was a bit pathetic

You Know Who i.e. QE2

And BBC1's coverage still continues till 2pm. How are they managing to find enough subjects to talk about.

#Dear BBC says it all.
